Pursuit General Settings

Overview

In BQE CORE, the General tab of the Pursuit settings lets you choose how your firm builds proposals. The Proposal Format applies firm-wide, to every opportunity and every user. You can build proposals in the web-based CORE Proposal Builder, or from your firm's own Microsoft Word templates with Smart Fields that CORE fills in with your client, opportunity, and quote data.

Proposal Format

Format your firm uses to create proposals:

  • CORE Proposal Builder: You build proposals in the web-based Proposal Builder. The Proposal tab of an opportunity lists the proposals of that opportunity.
  • Microsoft Word: You build proposals from your firm's own Word templates with Smart Fields. You create, preview, email, download, and print proposals from the Proposal tab of an opportunity.

The Proposal Templates screen shows only the templates of the selected format.

Change the Proposal Format

An administrator can change the Proposal Format of your firm at any time. Existing proposals keep working, and proposal templates of the other format are kept.

To change the Proposal Format, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Settings screen from the side menu.
  2. Select Pursuit > General.
  3. In Proposal Format, select CORE Proposal Builder or Microsoft Word. Check field descriptions for more details.
  4. Click Save.

After you switch to Microsoft Word, your list of proposal templates shows only Word templates. Your CORE Proposal Builder templates are kept and return if you switch back. For details, check Proposal Templates and Proposals.

Note: If your firm used CORE before this setting was added, the Proposal Format starts as CORE Proposal Builder.
