Project Planner provides a visual indicator to help you understand how resource allocations are aligned with the project budget. This improves transparency and allows you to quickly identify whether allocations are managed through budget synchronization or independently.
When sync between resource allocation and project budget is enabled, the sync status indicator appears at both the project level and allocation level across the top (Gantt) and bottom (Resource Schedule) sections of Project Planner.
Sync Status Indicators
The indicator reflects the current relationship between allocations and project budget:
- Synced (Green indicator)
Indicates that the allocation is synced with the project budget. Any updates made in allocation or budget are automatically reflected in both areas. - Sync Issue (Orange indicator) (if applicable)
Indicates that the allocation is not fully synced due to a potential issue. This state might not appear in all scenarios and depends on system validation. - Not Synced (No indicator)
Indicates that the allocation is manually managed and not linked to the project budget.
Hours Budgeted Behavior
The display of Hours Budgeted at the allocation level depends on the sync status:
- For synced allocations, the Hours Budgeted value is displayed directly at the allocation level.
- For non-synced allocations, the field continues to display N/A, maintaining the existing behavior.
Sync indicators are available only when budget-allocation sync is enabled for the project and update automatically across the entire project hierarchy, including parent and child projects. This ensures clear visibility into budget alignment and helps you accurately interpret allocation data while making informed planning decisions.
