The AR Aging and Balance Sheet reports have different balances for A/R when the A/R account has journal entries.
This is because, by default, the AR Aging report does not include journal entries. To include journal entries in the report, you need to set Show General Journal to Yes under the Options tab in the Reports > Customize Report dialog.
