Opportunity Stages

Overview

You can create a list of stages for your opportunities to indicate the current status of an opportunity or to track the progress of an opportunity, e.g., whether an opportunity is ongoing, lost, won or closed. This custom list is useful in identifying various completion stages of opportunities from prospects to clients. For example, Prospecting, Qualification, Needs Analysis, Negotiation/Review, Pricing, Closed Won or Closed Lost, and so on.

When an opportunity arises, a sales representative or business development agent can be at various stages in the sales process. Whether it be understanding the needs of a client, negotiating a quote or closing the sale, it is important to be able to quickly understand where you are. It also helps your company to track and forecast potential revenue and allow managers to do performance reviews of their sales agents based on the opportunities lost or won. Click to watch this video on creating opportunity stages in BQE CORE CRM.

Field Descriptions

Field Name Field Description
CRM Lists > Opportunity Stages >
Opportunity Stage Name of the stage of an opportunity.
Stage Type Categorizes the stage as Initial, Ongoing, Won, or Lost. You can create multiple stages of the same type, for example, separate Lost and Abandoned stages that both report as Lost. Your pipeline must always have at least one Won-type stage and one Lost-type stage; this is enforced only when you try to delete a stage.
Workflow Action  Triggers CORE to automatically create an Execution Project when an opportunity reaches this stage. This is optional and can be set on any stage, not only Won-type stages.
Probability  The default probability of winning, applied automatically when an opportunity moves into this stage. You can still override the probability on an individual opportunity. This field is optional.
Active Indicates whether an opportunity stage is active and available to be used in the opportunities.
