Why can't I add time entries to main projects?

A main project is a parent project with phases/child projects under it and does not have a separate identity off its own. So, you cannot log time and expenses to the main projects, only to their phases. Changing the type from 'main' to 'standard' should resolve the issue of logging time directly to that parent project.
