Overview
BQE CORE offers a newer version of the Project List that runs on faster, more modern grid technology. It displays the same project data, key performance indicators (KPIs), and permissions as the classic Project List; the difference is in how you filter, sort, arrange columns, and save your own views. You can switch to it whenever you' are ready, and switch back to the classic list at any time; CORE remembers your choice.
For everything else about working with projects fields, creating and cloning projects, batch updates, CSV import/export, and so on, see Project List - Legacy View, which applies to both versions of the screen.
How To
Switch Between the Classic and New Project List
Switch Between the Classic and New Project List
You can switch between the classic and new Project List at any time. Your project data, key performance indicators, and permissions remain the same in both versions.
To switch between views, follow these steps:
- Open the Projects screen from the side menu > Projects.
- On the classic Project List, click Try the new Project List near the top of the screen.
- CORE opens the new Project List. Your project data, key performance indicators, and permissions remain unchanged.
- To return to the classic Project List, click Switch back to legacy Project List near the top-right of the new screen.
Note: CORE remembers your selection. After you switch views, CORE opens the selected version the next time you open the Projects screen, on any device, until you switch again. If you have not switched to the new Project List, the classic Project List remains the default.
Build and Save Your Own Views
In the new Project List, the View dropdown at the top-left of the grid lets you save and switch between custom combinations of filters and columns. Unlike saved filters in the classic Project List, saved views include the column layout.
To build and save a view, follow these steps:
- Open the Projects screen from the side menu > Projects, and switch to the new Project List.
- Set up the grid as needed. Apply filters, and show, hide, resize, or arrange columns.
- Click the View dropdown. The current view name, such as Default View, is displayed.
- Under My Views, click Create New and enter a name for the view. The current filters and column layout are saved with the view.
- Select a saved view from the list to switch to it. The associated filters and columns are applied.
- To create a new view based on an existing view, select the view and click Duplicate. Make the required changes and rename the view.
- Use Rename or Delete View to manage saved views. The default view cannot be renamed or deleted.
Note: Saved views apply only to the Project List. Views saved in other areas of CORE are not affected.
Filter and Sort
The new Project List displays a Status filter by default, with options for Draft, Active, Completed, Hold, Inactive, and Canceled. The Add Filter option lets you filter the grid using other columns.
To filter directly from the grid, follow these steps:
- Open the Projects screen from the side menu > Projects, and switch to the new Project List.
- Click + Add Filter above the grid.
- Select the column and condition you want to use. Available conditions vary according to the column type. For example, date columns provide different conditions from text or number columns.
- The filter appears above the grid. A single selected value is displayed in the filter. When multiple values are selected, the filter displays the number of selected values.
- Click the filter to modify or remove it.
- Applied filters and sorting remain in place while you continue working in the grid.
To sort the grid, click a column header. Sorting reorders the root-level project rows while keeping each project's phases grouped under that project. Phases are not mixed with phases from other projects. When you change the sort order, expanded phases are collapsed so the new order is easier to view.
Arrange and Pin Columns
The new Project List provides column options through the … menu at the top-right of the grid. Under Column Visibility, you can manage the columns displayed in the grid.
To arrange or pin columns, follow these steps:
- Open the Projects screen from the side menu > Projects, and switch to the new Project List.
- Open the … menu and select Column Visibility to show, hide, or reorder columns.
- Drag a column header in the grid to move it to a different position.
- Pin columns to keep them visible while scrolling horizontally through the grid. You can pin multiple columns.
- To restore the default column widths, select Reset to default.
