Project Display Settings

Overview

The Project Display settings in BQE CORE allow you to configure how projects, phases, and breadcrumbs are labeled and formatted throughout CORE and on client-facing documents such as invoices, statements, and retainers. You can customize the display format by combining project and phase fields and adding separators to create meaningful naming conventions for your company.

By default, the same display format is used throughout CORE and on client-facing documents. However, you can choose to configure a separate display format for invoice PDFs, statements, retainers, and other client-facing documents under the On Invoices and Statement PDFs section.

Note: Changes made to the Project Display settings affect only how projects and phases are displayed and do not change the underlying project data.

You can set the format in which the project names are displayed in CORE screens, reports and drop-down lists. You can add or remove various fields and add separators to set the naming format and order. CORE lets you choose the display name for Projects and Project Phase. While setting the naming format, you can preview it in real-time.

Example: For Projects, you can select Client ID - Project ID - Project Name as the display name. For Project Phase, you can select Root Project ID - Parent ID - Phase ID- Phase Name. The default format is [Text] [Separator] [Text].

Project Phase Specifies how project phases are displayed throughout CORE, including screens, drop-down lists, and reports. You can combine project and phase fields, add separators, and arrange them in the desired order. A preview is displayed as you make changes.
Project Breadcrumb

You can customize the breadcrumb layout and appearance for the Projects screen using the drop-down lists that represent both the projects and their phases.

In the first drop-down list (representing the root projects), you can select any of the following:

  • Root Project ID + Root Project Name (default)
  • Root Project ID
  • Root Project Name

Additionally, there are more drop-down from which you can choose how the phases display:

  • Phase ID
  • Phase Name

Note: The Project Breadcrumb setting applies only to project screens within CORE and is not used on client-facing documents.
