Invoices synced from QuickBooks Desktop to BQE CORE might show small rounding differences, such as one or more cents higher or lower than the original invoice amount in QuickBooks Desktop.
This behavior is usually caused by rounding or manual adjustments applied to line items in QuickBooks Desktop before syncing.
QuickBooks Desktop calculates invoice totals using exact percentage-based values at the line item level. If a percentage-based line item results in a fractional value and that value is later rounded or manually adjusted, the stored total in QuickBooks Desktop can differ slightly from the calculated total that is synced to CORE. If an invoice is not saved or fully recalculated in QuickBooks Desktop after a manual adjustment, CORE receives the original calculated value instead of the rounded value displayed in QuickBooks Desktop, resulting in a minor discrepancy.
Example
For example, an invoice that shows $1,062.25 in QuickBooks Desktop might appear as $1,062.02 in CORE, or an invoice for $1,920.00 can import as $1,919.97. These differences typically range from one to a few cents.
An invoice contains multiple percentage-based line items, including one calculated as 9.73% of 15,210, which equals 1,479.933.
If this value is left as calculated, CORE syncs the exact amount, resulting in a total such as 34,432.203. If the value is manually rounded in QuickBooks Desktop to 1,480, the displayed invoice total changes accordingly, for example, to 34,432.27. If the invoice is synced without being fully recalculated or saved after this adjustment, CORE might receive the unrounded value, causing a small difference in the final total.
Resolution
Before syncing invoices from QuickBooks Desktop to CORE, review and save the invoice to ensure all line item calculations are finalized.
If percentage-based line items have been manually adjusted or rounded, confirm that the invoice has been recalculated and saved in QuickBooks Desktop before syncing. This ensures CORE receives the same finalized values and prevents minor rounding differences.
