If you want to make an inactive employee active again, you cannot merely change its status to Active in the Employees screen. You also need to re-activate the user linked to the employee record so that CORE can be accessed. Moreover, CORE de-links the user from the employee when you change the status to Inactive. So you have to activate both the employee and the user.
To re-activate the user and link it back to the employee, follow these steps:
- Set the employee's Status back to Active in the Employees detail view.
- Now go to the company menu > Account > Manage Users and change the Status of the corresponding user to Active.
- In the Linked Employee field, select the employee you want to link to the user (which would be the one you made Active in step 1).
- Save the changes.
The employee is now active and can access CORE.
