Tracking prenatal leave

BQE CORE allows you to track a separate prenatal leave from the standard Sick or Vacation time by using an Overhead project type and a dedicated activity item. By creating a project budget for prenatal leave and assigning it to individual employees, you can allocate leave hours and monitor usage through the Budget Comparison report. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Projects screen from the side menu and then select your Overhead project, typically used for internal, non-billable time like Sick, Vacation, or other non-billable work.
  2. In the detail view, go to the Budget tab of the overhead project and select Add Budget. Enter a relevant name for the budget (e.g., Prenatal Leave – [Employee Name]).
  3. If the Prenatal Leave activity is not yet available, go to Settings > Time & Expenses > Activity Items and create an activity named Prenatal Leave. Make sure it is marked as Non-Billable.
  4. Back in the budget you created, add a new line item. Select the Prenatal Leave activity and assign it to the specific employee.
  5. In the Hours column, enter the number of hours allocated to the employee for the prenatal leave.
  6. Next, go to Reports > Report Center and run the Budget Comparison report.

  7. In the report filters section, select the overhead project and set the Activity Item filter to Prenatal Leave. You can also filter by employee or date range, as needed. Run the report to view the Budgeted vs. Used Hours for prenatal leave.
