How to bind line item values in Zapier actions?

When working with actions that support line items, such as Create Invoice or Create Vendor Bills, Zapier automatically handles the binding process if it detects line items from a prior step, for example, from QuickBooks or another app.

For BQE CORE actions, you can bind values using one of the following methods:

  • Literal Value Binding: You can pass a plain text value (e.g., the name or ID of an entity) from the previous step. The connector will attempt to automatically locate the matching entity in BQE CORE using this value. If no exact match is found, the Zap will fail.

  • Dropdown Selection or Dynamic Search: You can manually select an entity from a drop-down or use a dynamic search to find the correct ID. In many cases, Zapier will also allow you to create the entity on the fly if it does not already exist.
