Access to time and expense entries in BQE CORE is controlled by user permissions defined in the Security Profiles screen. These permissions control which employee records you can view across the Time Entries, Time Card, and Expense Entries screens.
Depending on the enabled permissions, CORE users can have access only to their own entries or also to those of other employees. When multiple permissions are assigned, CORE applies them hierarchically to determine the highest level of access.
Security Permissions
The following permissions manage access to time and expense entries:
- Allow access to entries of projects I manage
This permission grants access to time and expense entries associated with projects where the user is assigned as the Project Manager. - Allow access to employees I manage
This permission grants access to entries created by employees who report to the user (i.e., managed employees). - Allow access to entries of all employees
This permission grants access to entries for all employees in CORE. This is the most permissive setting and overrides the other two entry-related permissions.
Note: When multiple permissions are enabled, the All Employees permission takes precedence over Projects I Manage and Employees I Manage permissions.
Employee Filter Behavior
The Employee filter on the Time Entries, Time Card, and Expense Entries screens dynamically reflects the user’s level of access:
- No entry-related permissions enabled:
Only the logged-in user appears in the Employee drop-down. - Employees I Manage permission enabled:
The drop-down displays only the employees managed by the user. - Projects I Manage or All Employees permission enabled:
The drop-down displays all employees in the company.
Important: These settings affect access across all entry screens, but do not affect billing or payroll permissions.
