Assigning classes to employees to track their time

Is it possible to assign classes to employees so that all their time entries are automatically assigned to those classes? This is how we track data in our law firm.

In BQE CORE, you can assign classes for various transactions at the project, activity, and expense item level. In the case of time entries, the best approach is to use your attorneys' names when creating classes and do one of the following: 

  1. Assign classes using the Batch Update feature in the Projects screen > list view or
  2. Assign classes using the Batch Update feature in the Activity Items screen > list view 
Note: This change affects the new transactions and not the existing ones.
 
This solution works if you have only one attorney working on a project (or matter). The project class assignment gets precedence over the activity class if both are present.
