Why are my email attachments getting zipped automatically?

Your email attachments get compressed (zipped) automatically in Core if the option Automatically zip multiple attachments is checked in Global Settings > Email Settings. De-select this option to keep the attachments as individual files rather than being compressed into a single .zip file. Check the Core Help for more on this option.
