How to make the retainer applied show up on invoices?

If you want the retainer applied on an invoice to show on it, you need to apply it when creating the invoice. Otherwise, if you use the Use Retainer payment method on the invoice later, it will reduce the balance on the invoice, but not show up on it as Retainer Applied. Check out this article for more details: Applying retainer while creating invoices.
