Changing parent projects

If you are changing the status of a parent project, say to inactive, Core prompts you to change the status of the associated phases, but only if the parent project (root project) is of type 'Main.' Because a main type project acts as a placeholder to house its child projects (phases), a change to the parent project causes Core to prompt you to make changes to the child projects as well. However, if the root or parent project is of type 'Standard', then the project status of the parent project does not affect the child projects automatically. This is because a standard project has its own identity and attributes.
