If you want to make an inactive employee active again, you cannot merely change its status to Active in the Employees screen. You also need to re-activate the user linked to the employee record so that CORE can be accessed. Moreover, CORE unlinks the user from the employee when you change the status to Inactive. So, you have to activate both the employee and the user.
To re-activate the user and link it back to the employee, follow these steps:
- Set the employee's Status back to Active in the Employees detail view.
- Now go to the Manage Users screen (Settings > Access & Permissions) and change the Status of the corresponding user to Active.
- In the Linked Employee field, select the employee you want to link to the user (which would be the one you made Active in step 1).
- Save the changes.
The employee is now active and can access CORE.
