How to handle additional services fee that occur throughout the life a fixed fee project?
There are a few ways to handle this, depending on your unique situation:
- You can use the Projects > General > Structure tab to set up the Additional Services as a project phase, but the project's total contract amount will not adjust to include this extra amount. You can manually change the contract amount to reflect the new total, but the downside of that is it will automatically adjust all the phase values based on their percentage of the previous contract total. You will have to re-enter or change their values too.
- You can mark the individual time entries of the Additional Services as 'Extra' and track them separately from the fixed fee.
- You can create and mark the Additional Services phase as Hourly and not change the contract amount of the entire project. You can track it on top of the fixed fee project.
