Rounding off time

Print Friendly and PDF

When entering time in Core, a user experiences issues with the start time and stop time. If the user enters 9:00 a.m, the time entered rounds off to 9:10 a.m.

This rounding off of time happens because of a setting in Global Settings. The 'Smallest time increment for time entry' and 'Smallest time increment for start and stop time' options in Global Settings > Time & Expenses leads to the rounding off of time in minutes in the Time Entries and Timers screens. However, it does not modify the actual start and end time, but rounds up the time actually added to the time entry. For example, if you set the smallest time increment to 15 minutes (0.25 hours) and Start Time = 9:00 am and Stop Time = 9:01 am, only a minute passed, but according to this setting, Core logs the time entry as 15 minutes, not 1.
